Privacy policy
Short version: the software doesn’t track you. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no account. The sections below say exactly what does happen, so you can check rather than trust.
What the software sends
Forge Tweaks makes one kind of outbound connection: downloading updates and the FrameForge installer. It contains no analytics or telemetry code of any kind. Your benchmark results, your list of applied tweaks, and your hardware details stay on your machine, in files you can open and delete.
FrameForge is two pieces, and they behave differently. The desktop app asks GitHub whether a newer version exists when it starts, and downloads the frame-generation plugin when you install it. The plugin — the part that loads into the game — makes no outbound connections at all. Both check your licence entirely offline, against a file on your disk.
Forge Latency — and the same screen inside Forge Tweaks Premium — takes a short Windows kernel trace to measure driver stalls, your system timer, your mouse report rate and frame pacing. That sounds invasive, so to be precise: the trace records which drivers held the CPU and for how long. It is not keylogging, and it does not record what you type, what you click, or what is on your screen. It runs for a few seconds, stays in memory, is summarised into the numbers you see, and is never written to disk or sent anywhere. Like the others, the app only reaches the network to ask GitHub whether an update exists.
None of the Forge apps read, attach to, or modify any game process. Nothing is injected into a game, and no anti-cheat is touched.
Your machine ID
Licences are tied to one PC, which requires something to identify that PC. The software derives a 16-character machine ID from your hardware and hashes it locally. The hash is what leaves your computer; the underlying hardware details do not, and the hash cannot be reversed back into them.
It is used for one thing — issuing and validating your licence — and it is not linked to advertising, profiling, or anything else.
Activation, and when the software talks to a server
- Never, from the software itself. Activation happens here on this website, in your browser. The app shows you a 16-character machine ID, you paste it into our activation page, and you get back a licence file to save beside the program. The apps do not transmit your machine ID — you do, by hand, if and when you choose to.
- No repeat checks, on any plan. A licence is a signed file. A monthly licence carries its expiry date inside that signature, and once the date passes the software stops accepting it — offline, without asking us anything. There is no mechanism for us to check up on your machine, on any plan.
- When you check for updates. A normal download request, which necessarily reveals your IP address to the host, as any download does.
What we hold, and why
When you buy something, we end up holding:
- Your email address and order details — to deliver your licence and support you.
- Your machine ID — to issue and validate that licence.
- Any emails you send us — because that is how a conversation works.
We do not receive or store your card details at any point. They go directly to Stripe, our payment processor, who handle them under their own privacy policy. We see only what we need to fulfil the order — your email address, what you bought, and whether it was paid.
Because we are the seller rather than a marketplace, we are required to keep enough of a record of each sale to satisfy Australian tax law and, where VAT applies, to evidence which country a customer was in. Stripe determines that from your card and billing details; we hold the resulting country, not the card.
We keep order and licence records for as long as the licence is valid, and afterwards for as long as tax law requires us to keep records of sales.
Who else sees it
Stripe, and our email provider. That is the list. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and there is no third-party tracking on this website.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email support@forgetweaks.com. Deleting your licence record will invalidate your licence, so we will check that is what you want first.
If you are in Australia and you think we have mishandled your personal information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. If you are in the UK or EU, you have equivalent rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR, including the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
Children
The software is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change what the software collects, this page changes with it and the date at the top updates. We will not quietly start collecting something and leave this page as it was.
